Garden for Anna and Mark
This project began with a blank canvas. A new build garden with only a simple patio and lawn.
The clients wanted a garden that offered variety. Spaces for hosting and entertaining alongside quieter spots for early morning coffees and everyday moments of pause.
The design takes its cues from the open plan living room and kitchen, creating a strong flow between inside and out so the garden feels like a natural extension of the home. Generous planting brings softness and texture, shaping pockets of space that feel immersive and secluded, while subtle screening enhances privacy from neighbouring properties.
The result is a garden with character and purpose. A place that supports both lively gatherings and calm, reflective moments.
The Design Process
It can feel daunting to take on a garden project when you’re not sure what the design process involves.
At Seven, I want the journey to feel approachable. This page gives you a glimpse into how a design grows, from first impressions to final form, and how each landscape is shaped in response to its place, its people, and its potential.
This is where the character of the garden takes shape.
The concept design explores form, flow, and atmosphere, turning the site’s opportunities into a clear vision for how the space will feel and function.
Concept Design
This work underpins the design decisions and form.
By observing movement, light, landform, and existing character, we build the insight needed to shape a design that feels grounded and responsive.
